To morrow morning there will be helicopter flights to the mainland for commuters and school children. An ice track for the ferry is broken and it is expected that the ferry will commence the ferry season on Friday afternoon. If that is not possible, school children and commuters are promissed to get helicopter transports home. Tomorrow Friday 8 April, the public snowmobile track between Norrfjärden and Holmön will be closed for this season. There are areas where the ice do not have the required quality. The closing of Kvarken for north-south traffic will be lifted this coming week and the ice will be broken up to facilitate for the start of the ferry taffic. 11-04- 07 |

There are still problems with pages and lnks
There are still problems with pages and links on the Holmön Portal. The main reason is a difference in name rules. When the portal was made in 1999 there was no distinction between lower-case and upper-case letters, but it is so in the current system. On the portalen there are over 1500 files of which more than half have upper-case first letter in the file name. Work is in progress to changes this. The Holmön Portal has now been moved to another operator and is now in operation after being out of operation for some days. 11-02-15 |

Transports of goods
Svevia will be responsible for transports of goods to Holmön. The transports will be carried out with snowmobile and sledge. Only pre-booked transports will be made. In case the hovercraft can not run, transports of passangers will also be carried out. More information will follow later when the transport commences. 11-02-09 |

The hoovercraft creates a pressure wave in the ice that breakes up the ice in large cake shaped ice flakes. Snowmobile drivers and others are urged to take care if crossing the hoovercraft track. 11-02-05 |

The snowmobile track will be opened today
About 2-3.5 km from Norrfjärden, there is an areas with compressed ice under the snow. Drivers are urged to drive carefully in this area and be aware that there can be hard ice knuckles under the snow. The lagrest knuckles will be marked with dubble sticks and also both sides of the area.

The ferry traffic has been cancelled for the time being due to engine failure. The ferry lies still in the ice about 30 m from the jetty in Byviken, Holmön.
