The ferry tour at 9.00 from Norrfjärden arrived at Holmön about 11 and the tour at 10.00 from Holmön departed delayed at 11:15. This afternoon there will be only one tour departing 15.30 from Norrfjärden and 16.30 from Holmön. The 17.30 and 18.30 tours are cancelled. On Monday morning the frist tour from Norrfjärden departs at 5.30 and from Holmön 6.30. All other tours on schedule.

Excavation work commenced in Norrfjärden
The excavation work for a new bus stop on the lower parking lot has now commenced. The major part of the parking lot will be closed during the work. More parking space will be made inwards to compensate for the area lost to the bus stop.

Water supply pipeline delayed
UmeEva announces that the pipeline for water supply to Holmön has been delayed due to a break-down on the barge used for excavation work in Norrfjärden. The delay means that the pipeline on the sea bottom can nor be made until spring 2011. This autumn, all work on land in Norrfjärden and on Holmön will be completed. In May 2011 after the ice is gone the work at sea will continue. The ambition is that the pipeline should be ready in June 2011 before the summer vacations begin.

Janne Hammarberg is testing a weather station that gives data online. The station is located by his house below the Vicars 's place. This means that the station stands out of the wind so wind data will be underestimated. The test will continue for some month. See weather online.

Water supply to Holmön
UmEva has informed that a new water pipe will me made to Holmön from Norrfjärden. The work will begin this week. The pipe will be made of 200-m sections that will be prepared on land in Norrfjärden. The sections will then be towed out, joined and put down with weights. The pipe will be covered close to land to protect it form ice and swell. To prepare the 200-m sections, the road side will be utilised from the parking and passing the garages. This means that the only entrance and exit from the parking and garages will be the south exit, closest to the ferry. All other exits will be closed. The work is expected to take 2 month.

Music at the Boat Museum
Mullin Mallin plays their inspiring music at Holmöns Boat museum on Wednesday 28 July at 19-21, incl. a break. Free entrance!
We play contrabass, accordion, clarinet, Cajun, djembe, darbuka, ram drum, tambourine, egg, goat feets and other things that can be used as rhythm instruments. We sing and play much Eastern European music (Bulgarian, Macedonian, Russian, Karelian, Romian, Bosnic, Slovakian e t c)
and have also Finish and several Sami inspired songs on our repertoire.

Appeal from Färjerederiet
It is lack of space on the jetty and the turning area in Norrfjärden and the bus has today difficult to turn in a safe manner, due to all cars that drive down att unload their cargo. If the bus will not be able to turn safely there is a risk that the bus tour to Norrfjärden will be cancelled for security reasons.
We therefore urge everyone arriving by car to Norrfjärden to avoid to drive out on the jetty, park temporarily in the turning area or unload cargo on the turning place.

Book tips for the summer
The Holmö son Gunnar Fredriksson, now living in Bonässund outside of Ö-vik, has newly presented a new book, describing the life on Holmön. In a pleasant, but some time serious way, the life on Holmön before and now is told. With a personal language and own memories, one can follow the seasonal changes from youth to later dates. It is both solemn and dramatic moments that are outlined in short paragraphs with many pictures and illustrations. Several of Holmöns homesteads and their inhabitants are described both historical and today. The book is suggested for a relaxed reading this summer.

Citizens proposal
From Holmön three so called Citizens proposals have been suggested to the Municipal Administration. These types of proposals are taken up in the local political assembly who will decide on how these proposals shall be handled.
